Happy Birthday, Kantos! (New Challenge)

Hello everybody! Yesterday was my legaversary! I’ve officially been working with the Kanto family for three years now. Unfortunately, this special occasion snuck up on me and I don’t really have anything prepared. What I do have is a proposition for a new challenge.

You see, three years ago I had a second challenge on this very blog. I called it, “Total Drama Sims.”

The challenge starred these two dorks.

Chris McSim

Chris McSim and

Chef Simchet

Chef Maria Simchet.

I was super excited to play this challenge and it was a lot of fun to get it all together. Unfortunately, it was right around the time that I was drafting the first chapter that I had to restart the Kanto legacy with Bronzong due to corrupted save files. Since I was restarting that legacy and I had just begun my dual legacy, I decided to scrap this idea for the time being and the first chapter was never published.

But now, after all this time, I’d like to go back to it. And this time, I fully intend to get through a whole season of Total Drama Sims.

This challenge gets its own blog this time, so as not to clog up the Kanto site. Although there’s nothing on it right now besides two fairly blank pages, it can be found here.

This challenge will require some setup, so it’ll likely take a while for me to begin working on it. In the meantime however, I’d like to ask a favor. Instead of me creating twenty-two of my own campers to compete, I’d love it if you guys could submit Sims of your own for the challenge!

Sims can be spares, random townies you like the look of, or made from scratch if you like. They can look and act however you’d like. They can be big, small, vanilla, berry, supernatural. Whatever you want. The only rule I have is that they must be teenagers, in the spirit of the original Total Drama Island.

CC is welcome, just make sure to send me a link to it. As far as EPs, I have all but World Adventures, Late Night, Island Paradise, and Into the Future. I don’t have any SPs because I’m lame. Sorry to be so limiting when it comes to CAS :/

You can submit multiple Sims if you want, and you’re more than welcome to come up with backgrounds for your Sims and their reasons for joining the show. You can also leave them mysterious if you’d prefer.

So without further adieu, leave a link in the comments here or on the Meet the Campers page of the TDS blog if you’d like to submit Sims, thanks so much for reading and for sticking with me for these three years, and happy Simming!

Total Drama Sims Episode 0: Meet the Cast

Welcome to Sim Valley summer camp, a camp located in the long-abandoned town of the same name. This place has been renovated recently for use on a brand new reality show: Total Drama Sims. Twenty-two campers will be competing in several challenges throughout the summer, each with one goal in mind: to win the million dollars. Campers will be split into two teams, the Screeching Simbots and the Rattling Bonehildas. Each week, the losing team will be sent to the campfire, where they will eliminate one camper from the team. But it’s not only their votes that count. That’s right, readers like you will also be able to express your opinion through polls posted shortly after the episode’s release. Who will win the million? It’s all up to you. Now, let’s meet the cast.

This is our host, Chris McSims. Chris has always been a huge fan of Chris Mclean, host of the original Total Drama series, and he wants nothing more than to be just like him. Setting up a camp site in the middle of a long abandoned town, he began to draw teens in by saying that the winner would get a million dollars. But will McSims succeed in making a successful show?

Maria “Chef” Simchet has always been a strong willed woman, having all the necessary traits to take care of herself. She’s known Chris for a very long time, having babysat for him while she was in high school, so she was more than willing to jump on board when he offered to give her a job doing the things she does best, cooking, cleaning, and fixing things. What she didn’t know was that she would be stuck babysitting a bunch of teenage brats…

Image

Trudy Thompson has always been a good student, although she’s also very shy and doesn’t really fit in with others. She recently got accepted into a very prestigious law school, and of course she’s overjoyed, but she doesn’t exactly have the money to go. Can she win the million dollars to pay for her college?

Image

Brad Bates knows he has what it takes to win this little game. He’s athletic, which will help him through the challenges, and he gets along well with people, which will save him from elimination. Does he really need the money? No, he just likes a little friendly competition. Plus, he really had nothing else to do this summer.

Image

Jerome Wells has always been popular, especially with the ladies, so winning a contest based essentially on popularity should be a piece of cake, right? And maybe winning would get him the recognition he needs to finally make it big as a singer. But will his habit of losing his train of thought get him into trouble with his teammates?

Image

Brittany Nealson grew up in a very rich family, always getting whatever she wanted. She doesn’t need any more money, really, she just wants the satisfaction of doing something without her father’s help. She doesn’t need to win, just get as far as she can. Will her charming nature help her through eliminations, or will this little princess be overthrown?

Image

Garrett Swallow grew up in the middle of nowhere, never getting to be around other people, so he’s not very good at social situations. He never knows how to dress or how to act to fit in. He does, however, know that this competition could make him a millionaire, and he could definitely use the money to spice up his home with the technology he’s always been deprived of. Will his love for computers get him through the competition, or will his cowardice get the better of him in the end?

Image

Mandy Jenkins was always given whatever she wanted. Now, she wants to win the million dollars. She doesn’t need it, she just doesn’t want anyone else to have it. And she will do whatever it takes to ensure that she gets her way…

The Honda family moved to SimCity from Japan while Mrs. Honda was pregnant with Holly. They wanted their daughter ti fit in here in this new place, so they gave her an American name. Now, several years later, the family business is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Holly believes that, using her artistic abilities, she can somehow save it. Will her creativeness be enough to get her through the competition, or will she have to go back to selling her paintings to earn money?

Image

Leonard Ross abhors the outdoors, so why in the world would he ever want to come to this camp? He wants the money, of course. He can think of a number of ways to spend the money, such as perfecting his Star Trek collection or helping out with family issues, but will this little perfectionist be able to brave the outdoors long enough to win the money?

Image

Jenna Carson didn’t quite win that basketball scholarship she was hoping for, and she already applied for university. With her family having little money to spare, there’s no way Jenna can possibly pay for college…unless, that is, she wins the prize money.

Image

Dustin Hawkins has always been the little troublemaker, from disrupting class to bullying other kids, but this time, he’s gone too far. He stole some very valuable items from some rich neighbors, and now they expect him to pay up. But Dustin already spent all the money he used from selling their things, so how is he supposed to pay them back? By winning the prize money, of course.

Image

Tammy Lane has always been a free spirit, but her over protective parents have always held her back. She wants nothing more than to get as far away from them as possible. That’s why she’s entered the competition. She doesn’t care about the money, she just cares about staying in as long as she can so she doesn’t have to go back home.

Image

Sure, he’s not much to look at, but Dexter Lawrence is quite the character. For example, Dexter suffers from a very severe case of neurosis. The symptoms are so bad that he began stealing anxiety medication from his doctor to help. He was caught in the act, but instead of pressing charges, he was issued a warning. Dexter really needs those meds, but they’re so expensive…can he win the prize money so he can buy as much of it as he wants?

Image

One of Kallie Skeets’s fondest memories of her childhood was going out to the lake by her house to fish with her father. She still does to fish on occasion, even after her dad long abandoned her, her mother, and her baby brother. Her family isn’t doing so well money-wise since the abandonment. Can Kallie win the million dollars to help her family out?

Image

Donovan Mayes has had his heart broken one too many times. He’s decided that he’s never even going to look at a girl again. He’s also been using his heartbreak to fuel his passion for song writing. Donovan wants more than anything to make it as a singer, but he doesn’t have the money and no record company will take a risk on him. Can he win the competition to fund his musical career?

Image

Jade Blaize has always been fairly guyish, growing up with four older brothers. But with them heading off to college or the military, Jade has been left alone to rethink her life. She’s not the most attractive Sim in town, and she often scares away guys with her hot-headed nature. But Jade is realizing that she wants love just like all the other girls do, so she’s entered the competition, not for the money, but for the chance to prove that she’d make good girlfriend material just like girly girls would.

Image

Tony Tellar has never met his real parents. They gave him up for adoption as soon as he was born. Tony has nothing against his adoptive parents. In fact, he loves them very dearly, but sometimes he thinks it would be nice to be able to meet them. But where in the world can he get the money to fly him to Shang Simla? Can he win the competition to earn the money?

Image

Beatrice Belle has spent most of her life lounging on couches reading romance novels and watching romcoms, and her parents have finally had enough of it. They signed her up for a summer camp and immediately shipped her out. But when they found out that it wasn’t a camp at all, but a competition to win a million dollars, they decided to let her stay. They could use a bit more “spending money….”

Image

Ever the crowd pleaser, Casey Drake knows how to put on a good show. He has all the right skills to get money out of people, whether it’s through his amazing schmoozing or his tear jerking performances. Now, when he has the opportunity to win a million dollars, can he and his sister pull off the ultimate performance?

Image

Nobody hates everything, right? Well Corey Drake comes pretty close. The two things she does like are money and her brother Casey. She’s always willing to help him in his schemes to make money. But will the two of them be able to pull off their best performance yet: winning the million dollars?

Image

His entire life, Jason Day has been afraid of nearly everything from blood to girls, but his biggest fear, by far, as been of germs. So why would he want to spend his summer in a “camp” filled with disgusting food, wild animals, and other bacteria infested things? For the money of course! He wants to invest in as many things as he can to assure his home will be free from germs forever. But will he be able to survive in the filthy camp long enough to get the money?

Image

Elise Emmett grew up on a farm with virtually no money or technology, but that was always okay with her, because she had her horses. But now, with her family barely able to feed themselves anymore, her horses are about to be given away. Elise desperately wants to save her babies, but will she be able to win the competition?

Image

Lowell Johnson is an interesting character. He prides himself in being a lover of animals, and he never eats anything that once had a face. Lowell started his own program at school to help endangered animals around the world, and for a while, it was being funded by selling his art, but that’s just not cutting it anymore. He needs some big money if he wants the school to keep his program. Can he win the competition and keep his program afloat, or will he have to find a different way to show his support for the animals?

That’s all of our cast, dear readers. Tune in next week for our first challenge, and be ready to vote!
